A blockade or imbalance of the Anahata energy can manifest itself in different ways. Not only mental symptoms but also physical symptoms, such as cramps, pain or poor blood pressure can occur. On a spiritual level, a blocked 4th chakra leads to a lack of empathy, distrust, lovelessness, and withdrawal.
Simply put, if you’re often angry or sad, feel insecure about yourself, or are commonly jealous, it’s most likely because of your fourth chakra.

10 Tips for Opening and Healing Your Blocked Heart Chakra
Here are ten practical tips to balance, heal, purify and strengthen your heart chakra.
1. Heart Chakra Meditation
Meditation has many advantages. Most importantly, it trains your mindfulness. A strong awareness of your feelings will help you to bring an unbalanced heart chakra back into balance.
To get started, take ten minutes today. Find a quiet place, sit or lie down, reduce all noises around you, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing.
For beginners, we recommend a guided meditation or relaxing meditation music that you can run in the background. Try meditating in combination with this video. After only ten minutes you’ll definitely feel the difference.
2. Heart Chakra Affirmations
Positive affirmations help you to reprogram your subconscious. It’s perfect to open yourself to love and relieve the symptoms of a blocked chakra. Here are a few examples of affirmations that’ll help you open your heart chakra:
- My heart chakra is open and I want to receive and send warmth
- I am ready to love
- I forgive people for their mistakes. Also to myself
- I am loved and desired
- I don’t feel hate for small issues
- I take my time to see the beauty in everything
- I deserve compliments and gladly accept them
- I create loving, supportive relationships that are good for me
- I embrace and make love
3. The Color Green
The color green is associated with the heart chakra. If this color is more present in your everyday life, it can be your way to a balanced 4th chakra.

This one is very important for healing your heart chakra. Blocked heart chakras are often caused by things that have happened in the past. A common example: you’ve been extremely hurt in your previous relationship and are now afraid to fall in love again. Free yourself from the things that have passed and let go. Stop grieving and forgive yourself or the person who hurt you.
When you end something, you will create space for something new. Forgiveness is a new beginning.
5. Open Your Feelings
Show your feelings to the outside world. Don’t hold them back. Say what bothers you, cry when you feel like it, compliment and tell your fellows that you value and love them.
If you have a problem with that, because you may be introverted or suchlike, you can keep a diary instead. Write down your feelings and put them into words. This can help you process them.

You’ll find that you can feel more love when you see the beautiful things in life. Beauty and joy are often hidden in little things like sunshine, your beloved food, a clean apartment or your favorite song.
One way is to slow down your lifestyle. Remove unnecessary appointments from your schedule, spend more time with your loved ones, and go about your life at a pace that suits you personally.
The best thing is to set yourself the goal of seeing or experiencing something beautiful every day. In this way, you’ll not only sharpen your general attentiveness, but you’ll also be happier.
7. Healing Through Music
As already described in the first tip, there is music that is especially suitable for healing heart chakras.
Do you mainly listen to sad music? If so, stop it. To gain a positive attitude toward life, we recommend that you consciously listen to cheerful music. You can create your own playlist with your favorite happy music on Spotify for example (or simply search for the keyword “happy” inside the Spotify search).
Humans are social beings. We need physical contact to stay healthy. When hugging, oxytocin is released, which calms your body and serves as a natural antidepressant. In other words, you can’t hug your family or partner often enough.
9. Use Mantras
Mantras are sounds and vibrations that we can use to enter a deep state of meditation. The heart chakra mantra is “YAM”. As you meditate, you can introduce these mantras by saying them out loud over and over again.
10. Allow Love
Often we don’t let the love of others let through to us. We play it down or worse: we block it. Accept affection and compliments consciously, be thankful and return the compliment. When it comes to honest compliments, don’t feel awkward. Just enjoy the feeling of getting loved or a nice compliment and let it work for you.
